SA: Ford posts another loss in 2001
Ford Australia has posted a $5.5 million after-tax loss for the 2001 calendar year.
The company says the result comes on turnover of $2.8 billion and is a significantimprovement on the $16.1 million it lost in 2000.
President GEOFF POLITES says Ford is reasonably happy with the result, consideringthe major investment program the company had undertaken ahead of the release of the newFalcon later this year and other new product.
He says Ford expects to break even in 2002 and return to profit in 2003 once the newFalcon has been on sale for a full 12 months.
