Braunton singer-songwriter, Amy Newton (pictured), researchedsome of the music for The Bear Family And Me. And now she hopes theventure will add a new string to her bow. "This is relatively newand just happened by chance," she said.
"Ted's been great and given me a start," she said of Ted Oakes,the series producer for the latest bear programmes who saw Amy atone of her local gigs in Braunton.
"I met him during the process of filming and he said he didn'thave anybody doing the music for the first of the bear series.
"I looked for commercial music that would fit in. For instance, Ifound one great song for a scene that they've used.
"Since then I've had a call from other programmes with the BBCand my name is about. It would be great to compose things too.Obviously, I've still got all my other stuff going along, butanything in the music field is great, especially if it's creative.
"I'll just see where it takes me, and I might think about makingmy own movies maybe."
Amy's own work is also featured on a Derek Hoffman film about thesurfing world, Fibreglass And Megapixels.
The director found Amy's own song called Turn Things Around onthe internet and chose it to end his movie. As a result Amy wasinvited to Salt Lake City for the premiere.
