Fed: Australians want more local TV on ABC; survey

Most people want the federal government to give the ABC more money for local TV programs.

A poll commissioned by the media union found more than 65 per cent want more children's
programs .. 64 per cent more drama .. and 79 per cent more documentaries.

Most want the federal government to set a minimum amount of local programs on all free
to air networks .. including the ABC .. and more than 60 per cent .. especially young
people .. believe it's important programs are available through new media platforms like
the internet.
